A "prisoner" is someone who has been put in the prison. * The term "prisoners" can also refer in general to people who have been captured by an enemy and kept somewhere against their will. * The term "imprisoned" means "kept in a prison" or "kept in captivity." * Many prophets and other servants of God were put in prison even though they had not done anything wrong. * To "hold someone in custody" is to put him in a prison or other place from which he cannot escape.
