# Zoar ## Facts: Zoar was a small city where Lot fled when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. * It was formerly known as "Bela" but was renamed "Zoar" when Lot asked God to spare this "small" city. * Zoar is thought to have been located in the plain of the Jordan River or at the southern end of the Dead Sea.
