* **Flee youthful lusts** - “run away from lusts that tempt younger people” the way a person flees an attacking animal or murderer. If your language cannot make lusts a noun, AT: “absolutely refuse to do the things that young men strongly desire to do” or “do everything you can to stay away from doing ….”
* **pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace** - “chase after righteousness, faith, love, peace.” If your language cannot make righteousness, faith, love, peace nouns, AT: “do everything you can to do what is right, ….”
* **faith** - Possible meanings: 1) see [[en:obe:kt:faith]]; 2) see [[en:obe:kt:faithful]].
* **with** - Possible meanings: 1) "in the company of," meaning "join with other Christians in pursuing righteousness, …"; 2) "as you relate with," meaning "do everything you can to … be at peace with other Christians."
* **them who call on the Lord** - "Christians" or "those who call themselves the Lord's people"
* **out of a pure heart** - "with sincere motives" or "for reasons that are good"
* **refuse foolish and ignorant questions** - "refuse to answer foolish questions and ignorant questions"
* **foolish … questions** - "questions asked by people with no respect for God"
* **ignorant questions** - "questions asked by people who do not want to know the truth"
