# Curse
A curse is a prayer or words spoken so that something bad will happen to someone else (see: Numbers 22:4-6). It can also simply be something bad said about someone to insult them (see: Luke 6:28).

The Bible uses the word “curse” to talk about God punishing people who do not obey him. A curse is the opposite of a blessing.

Adam and Eve were cursed. They did not obey God (see: Genesis 3). The Israelites were cursed. They did not obey the law of Moses (see:

Deuteronomy 28:15-68).
