# Cornelius # ## Facts: ## Cornelius was a Gentile, or non-Jewish man, who was a military officer in the Roman army. * He prayed regularly to God and was very generous in giving to the poor. * When Cornelius and his family heard the apostle Peter explain the gospel, they became believers in Jesus. * The people of Cornelius' household were the first non-Jewish people to become believers. * This showed Jesus' followers that he had come to save all people, including Gentiles.
