# acquit # ## Definition: ## The term "acquit" means to formally declare someone to be not guilty of an unlawful or immoral behavior he was accused of. * This term is sometimes used in the Bible to talk about forgiving sinners. * Often the context is about wrongly acquitting people who are wicked and rebel against God. * This could be translated as "declare innocent" or "judge to be not guilty."
