\v 5 I have been reminded of your genuine faith, which lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am convinced that it is also in you.
\v 8 Therefore you should not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner. Instead, suffer together for the gospel, according to the power of God.
\v 9 He is the one who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own plan and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before time began,
\v 10 which now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus. He has indeed put an end to death, and has brought to light life and immortality through the gospel,
\v 12 For this cause I also suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which he has entrusted to me until that day.
\v 13 Keep the example of sound words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
\v 14 The good thing entrusted to you, guard it through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
\v 8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, from the seed of David, according to my gospel,
\v 9 for which I am suffering to the point of being chained as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound.
\v 10 Because of this, I endure all things for those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
\v 14 Remind them of these things, charging them before God not to quarrel about words, which is of no value, but ruins those who hear. \f + \ft Some versions read, \fqa charging them before the Lord \fqa* . \f*
\v 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who is not ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
\v 19 However, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his" and "Everyone who names the name of the Lord must abstain from unrighteousness."
\v 20 Now in a great house, there are not only containers of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, and some indeed for honorable use, and some also for dishonorable.
\v 21 Therefore if someone has cleaned himself from these things, he will be a container for honor, having been set apart, useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work.
\v 5 They will have a shape of godliness, but they will deny the power of it. So turn away from these people.
\v 6 For among them are people who are entering into households and captivating foolish women who are heaped up with sins and are led away by various desires,
\v 7 always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
\v 8 In the same manner that Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these people oppose the truth, people corrupted in their mind, and disqualified with regard to the faith.
\v 9 But they will not advance very far, for their foolishness will be obvious to all, just as also that of those men became.
\v 10 But you have followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
\v 11 persecutions, sufferings, and what happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what manner of persecutions I endured. And yet, the Lord rescued me from them all.
\v 12 And indeed all those who want to live in a godly manner in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
\v 13 But evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived.
\v 3 For the time will come when people will not endure sound teaching. Instead, they will heap up for themselves teachers according to their own desires, having itching ears to hear,
\v 8 And now the crown of righteousness has been reserved for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
\v 17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me, the proclamation might be fully carried out, and that all the Gentiles might hear it. And so I was rescued out of the lion's mouth.
