## hearts through faith ##

"through" the idea of a channel or way, showing that Christ lives in the hearts of believers by means of God's gift of faith given to them.

## that you be rooted and grounded in his love ##

Paul compares they faith like a tree that has deep roots or a house build on a solid foundation. Alternate Translation: "that you will be like a firmly rooted tree and a building founded upon stone". (See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metaphor]])

## all those set apart for God ##

It means all believers. It can be translated as "saints".

## that you may know the surpassing greatness of Christ's love ##

"that you may know Christ's love that is far above anything we can know by experience".
