Аҳъоб чунин кард. Тамоми халқи Исроил дар кӯҳи Кармил ҷамъ омад. Одамоне низ омаданд, ки аз номи Баал сухан мегуфтанд. Инҳо пайғамбарони Баал буданд. Илёс ба мардум гуфт: "То ба кай шубҳа мекунед? Агар Худованд Худо бошад, Худоро ибодат кунед! Ва агар Баал худо бошад, Баалро ибодат кунед"!
