"4": "You must not make for yourself a carved figure nor the likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. ",

"5": "You must not bow down to them and you must not serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God. I visit the iniquity of the fathers on the sons on the third and on the fourth of the haters of me. ",
|
||
"6": "But I show covenant faithfulness to thousands, to lovers of me and to keepers of my commandments.\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",
|
||
"7": "You must not lift up the name of Yahweh your God with emptiness, for Yahweh will not leave unpunished anyone who lifts up my name with emptiness.\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",
|
||
"8": "Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart to me. ",
|
||
"9": "Six days you may labor and do all your work,",
|
||
"10": "but the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. You must not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter; your male servant, or your female servant; or your cattle, or the foreigner who is within your gates. ",
|
||
"11": "For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and earth, the sea, and everything that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",
|
||
"12": "Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long on the land that Yahweh your God is giving you.\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",
|
||
"13": "You must not murder.\n\\p ",
|
||
"14": "You must not commit adultery.\n\\p ",
|
||
"15": "You must not steal.\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",
|
||
"16": "You must not testify false testimony against your neighbor.\n\\p ",
|
||
"17": "You must not covet the house of your neighbor; you must not covet the wife of your neighbor, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",

||
"18": "All the people were seeing the thundering and the lightning and the sound of the horn and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled, and they stood from a distance.",

||
"19": "They said to Moses, “You speak to us and let us listen! But do not let God speak to us lest we die.” \n\\ts\\*\n\\p",
|
||
"20": "And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, for God has come to test you so that the fear of him may be on your faces, and so that you do not sin.” \n\\p",
|
||
"21": "So the people stood far off, and Moses approached toward the thick darkness where God was.\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p ",

||
"22": "And Yahweh said to Moses, “You must speak thus to the sons of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. ",
|
||
"23": "You must not make alongside me—you must not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves.\n\n\\ts\\* ",
|
||
"24": "You must make an altar of earth for me, and you must sacrifice on it your burnt offerings, and peace offerings, sheep, and oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you. ",
|
||
"25": "And if you make me an altar of stones, you must not build them of cut stones, for causing your tool to move over it will defile it. ",
|
||
"26": "And you must not go up to my altar on steps, so that your nakedness is not exposed over it.’\n\n\n\\ts\\*\n\\p",
