A word-for-word substitution is the most literal form of translation. It is not the best choice for doing good translations. A word-for-word translation simply substitutes an equivalent word in the target language for each word in the source language.
စကားလုံးအစားထိုးခြင်းဆိုသည်မှာ တိုက်ရိုက်ဘာသာပြန်ဆိုခြင်းနှင့် အသင့်တင့်ဆုံး ပုံစံဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ဤပုံစံသည် ကောင်းမွန်သော ဘာသာပြန်ဆိုမှုတစ်ခုအတွက် နည်းလမ်းကောင်းမဟုတ်ပါ။ ဤစကားလုံးအစားထိုးခြင်း သည် ရိုးရှင်းသော ပုံစံတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး ပြန်ဆိုမည့်ဘာသာစကား မှ စကားလုံးကို မူရင်းဘာသာ၏ စကားလုံးနေရာတွင် အစားထိုးခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။
