(See: [[rc://en/ta/man/translate/translate-names]]) ## to be kept in chains in darkness until the judgment ## To be held in a secure prison waiting God's final judgment. ## and if he did not spare the ancient world…but brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly ## God destroyed the ancient world and the ungodly people with a flood. ## but did preserve Noah ## God saved righteous Noah from the flood. ## reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes ## God used fire to destroy the ungodly in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. ## as an example of what is to come ## Just as Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire, at the end of the age God will destroy all the ungodly people by the lake of fire.
